Inaugural Gardening competition!

With so many beautiful lawns, gardens and landscapes across Harvest and Waterford, this is a chance for all you expert green thumbs to be recognised for all your hard work and for those not-so-green thumbs to get stuck into the front yard during spring, upgrade your front garden and be in the running to win some great prizes!

The gardening frenzy will kick off at 10am on Saturday 19 October 2019 at the Waterford Sales and Information Centre.

The competition will wrap up at the end of Saturday 30 November 2019 with the official judging panel visiting each competing garden the following day and announcing the winners at the Award Ceremony at the Waterford Sales and Information Centre that afternoon.

There will be four prizes awarded in the following categories:

1. Grand Champion – for best overall garden

Prize: $1000 travel voucher from Greenhills Travel Centre*

2. Lawn Champion – for best lawn

Prize: $500 Bunnings voucher*

3. Miracle Worker – for most improved garden

Prize: $500 Bunnings voucher*

4. Little Green Thumb – best gardener under 13 years

Prize: Worm Farm valued at $100*

How do I enter?

To nominate yourself for the competition, simply register your details with Olivia Power (Community Development Officer) below. If you believe your neighbour has a stunning garden, encourage them to register. When nominating yourself, please include:

• Your name
• Your address
• The category or categories that you want to enter
• A current photo of the nominated garden or, in the case of the Miracle Worker category:
  • A subsequent photo of the entrant’s makeover to that garden, which must be sent separately to Olivia Power before the competition ends
  • A photo of the entrant’s established garden at the time of nomination; and

AVID will provide each entrant promotional competition signage, which will need to be displayed on your front lawns until the end of the competition.
