A new street library for Waterford

February 9, 2024

Due to popular demand, Waterford will be getting it’s first Street Library in August!

A street library is a weather proof box, displayed in a public area and filled with new and interesting books. Members of the community are invited to come and borrow a book at any time, returning it when they are finished for someone else to borrow. Our new street library will be located at the Waterford Sales and Information Centre.

Waterford has partnered with Morpeth Men’s Shed to design and build the street library and is asking community members to help out too.

To contribute to this fun community initiative, just supply a book of any genre, for any age, from kids to adults and deposit it at one of our designated drop off locations:

  • Waterford Sales  and Information Centre
  • St Bede’s Catholic College, Chisholm
  • St. Aloysius Primary School, Chisholm
  • Thornton Public School

Stay tuned for more details of the grand unveiling of the Street Library in August!
